Eternal Spring: The Bloom Edition

The Inspiration: A Breath of Fresh Air

After focusing on the clean lines of lifeguard stands, I wanted to create something that felt softer. I wanted to capture that specific feeling of a spring morning—bright, airy, and full of promise.

This clock, the first in my new Botanical Series, is unapologetically joyful. It isn’t just a timekeeper; it is a celebration of color, texture, and life.

The Design: Not Just a House, but a Garden

While my other clocks rely on architectural structure, The Bloom relies on organic layering.

  • The Shape: I moved away from the traditional “box” shape to a soft, tear-drop arch. It gives the piece a gentle, almost “Easter Egg” silhouette that feels approachable and soft.
  • The Texture: The face is alive with 3D elements. I didn’t want flat painted flowers; I wanted depth. The sunflowers, daisies, and cosmos are layered to create shadows and highlights, making the clock face feel like a living vertical garden.
  • The Palette: Set against a soft sky-blue background, the yellows, pinks, and purples pop “in a major way.” It’s playful, yes, but the complexity of the arrangement keeps it sophisticated.

A 360-Degree Work of Art

One detail I am particularly proud of is the back. usually, the back of a clock is ignored—just a piece of utility wood. But for this series, I wanted the experience to be immersive.

The back panel is wrapped in a vintage-style floral print that complements the front. Even if you are the only one who sees it when you change the batteries, it matters. It’s a reminder that art shouldn’t have “unfinished” sides.

The Message

The pendulum anchors the piece with a single word: “Bloom.”

It’s a simple daily reminder. Whether it’s a creative project, a new business, or just your own personal growth—there is always a season to bloom.
