Sweet Summer: The Mango Edition

The Inspiration: A South Florida Obsession

If you live in South Florida, you know that summer doesn’t just mean heat—it means Mango Season. For a few glorious months, our neighborhoods are filled with the sweet scent of ripening fruit. It is a time we wait for all year.

This clock is a tribute to that “Mango Madness.” It is a celebration of the fruit that defines our summers.

The Design: Breaking the Mold

This piece marks a major departure from my usual style. While my other clocks rely on architectural lines and geometry, the Mango Edition is entirely organic.

  • The Shape: I wanted to capture the perfect, asymmetrical curve of a ripe mango. We ditched the traditional “house” structure entirely to let the fruit itself be the frame.
  • The Texture: The giant green leaves aren’t just painted on; they are laser-cut and engraved with deep veins, creating a 3D canopy that drapes over the top of the clock face.
  • The Color: Getting that specific “sunset gradient” of a ripe mango—where the yellow fades into orange and blush red—was key to making this piece feel “juicy.”

A Little Extra Love

You might notice the pendulum isn’t a standard disc. It is a Red Heart.

Why a heart? Because down here, mangoes aren’t just a snack; they are a lifestyle. It’s a nod to the genuine love locals have for this season.

Why It’s Special

This clock is pure dopamine. It’s bright, it’s fun, and it captures the specific flavor of a Florida summer. Whether you hang it in a kitchen or a sunroom, it’s a reminder that life is sweet.
